Leoni Cachia

BA, MSc, PgCert, PgDip, AFHEA

Truth be told, Holistic Care is all about you, but I understand if you want to get to know me better. I’m Leoni, (she, her) an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (BABCP), working in the NHS and a trainee counsellor and psychodynamic psychotherapist with student membership (BACP). I encompass a 11 year career in mental health and education, complimented by a background in visual communications. I also work as a Network CBT Therapist for OneBright Efficacy and I co-facilitate for the Community Trauma Conference UK, delivering annual events every October. Check out my credentials and affiliations below.

I founded Leoni Cachia Holistic Care in 2019 following a variety of training and occupational experiences; low-intensity CBT, coaching and mentoring. Alongside my clinical PWP role, I worked as a wellbeing lead within an NHS team of 80+ clinicians for 2 years, whilst supervising practitioners in training which led me to develop my coaching specialism in self-care. In 2020 I completed specialist training to improve my competency for supporting clients living with long-term health conditions and I currently provide psychotherapy for individuals living with functional and organic neurological disorders, long-term health conditions, developmental disorders (such as autism) and neurodiversity’s/ learning difficulties (like ADHD and dyslexia).

Time passes us by

How do you want to spend yours?

Growing up working class, experiencing adversity and social inequality fuelled my curiosity for the psyche as well as my passion for parapsychology, psychotherapy and social justice work. I believe that access to holistic healing is a necessity. Prioritising self-care, particularly emotional health, spirituality and physical wellbeing are acts of trans-generational liberation and civil disobedience. My working style is integrative, informed by practice and evidence-based psychological underpinnings, particularly CBT; third-wave interventions such as ACT, CFT, and DBT, as well as further EMDR training and interests in community psychology and eco-therapy.

Gaining self-insight through talk therapies, coaching and complimentary therapies have personally helped me overcome first-generational issues, make better investment decisions, confront and overcome ruptures in relationships, change careers, prosper through loss, navigate existential, systemic and spiritual challenges. It also inspired me to curate my own independent practice whilst prioritising self-care. I can truly say, I utilise the tools for myself, to consciously shape the life I want intentionally, in alignment with my truest self and my values. "Today, I was discharged by my CBT therapist, Leoni, and I feel so much love and gratitude for her! It’s hard to know where to begin. She was incredibly professional, deeply understanding, exceptionally smart, and genuinely compassionate. The tools we used, the safe space she created during our sessions, the trust I built with her, and the self-discoveries I made along the way have been transformative. As a neurodivergent person, this was the first time I truly felt understood by a therapist. She helped me challenge unhealthy beliefs, step out of my comfort zone, and accomplish things I’m really proud of today. Her guidance was so helpful during some of the most challenging hardships I’ve faced over these last months. Thanks to her, I can say that I have finally emerged from a 10-year depression haunted by suicidal thoughts. I am going to miss her enormously."
